Privacy Policy

Effective: Mar 10, 2023

This document describes the Privacy Policies of the cyberwip.com website (‘Cyberwip,’ ‘this website,’ ‘the site’). It fully discloses all details on the collection, use, and sharing of personal information regarding individuals visiting or using the services provided by Cyberwip.

By using this website, you (the reader) acknowledge reading, understanding, and agreeing to abide by this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service Policy.

Cyberwip provides a technical blog where visitors may read articles and optionally post comments or responses to those articles. Cyberwip may also allow visitors to register to join various groups or events, including a mailing list from which users can be notified of new articles, upcoming events, or responses to statements or questions posted on the website. Registration and participation are not requirements for visitors to Cyberwip; users may remain anonymous while visiting Cyberwip.

Information Collection

In most cases, no personal information is collected from visitors to Cyberwip. Cyberwip only collects the data you choose to provide, and we process it with your consent only for the purpose you intended. In most cases, only a name and email address are required, and that information is stored in a secure database on this server and a backup archive within the data center. No personal data is ever shared with outside services for any reason other than under legal obligation.
IP addresses may be geo-located to track traffic by region, and page view counts to determine popularity. Still, no attempt is made to associate the individual’s identity with using that IP address.

When contacting Cyberwip using the Contact Form, please provide your name and phone number or email address so we can respond. For the same reason, you are also asked for a name and email when posting comments.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it and if an image is available. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

No financial or personally sensitive data is ever stored on this server, and all financial transactions are done via SSL with certified payment processors.

Uploads (shared media)

If you upload images to the website, you may wish to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images that may disclose your location.

Cookies

Cyberwip uses cookies to improve our quality of Service, as outlined in our Cookie Policy.

Service Providers

Cyberwip uses Google’s reCAPTCA service to prevent spam. Google evaluates all enquiries and comments to estimate the likelihood of spam. The privacy policy associated with Google’s reCAPTCHA can be viewed by clicking the icon in the lower right corner of the display on all pages where the invisible reCAPTCHA is used. Google’s privacy policy is also available at policies.google.com/privacy, and its Terms of Use are available at policies.google.com/terms.

PayPal is our payment gateway. PayPal handles all financial details securely, and no financial information is stored or maintained on this server.

As any other services are integrated into the cyberwip.com website, the details of that integration and any use of personal information will be posted here. This document will always be the latest version of the Cyberwip Privacy Policy.

Links and Embedded Content

Our Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to the associated website. Note that we do not operate these external sites. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review their Privacy Policies. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content of third-party sites or services, privacy policies, or practices.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves like the visitor has visited another website.

These source websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, or monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Children’s Privacy

The content on this website is intended to be suitable for all audiences [G], and our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service Policy reflect this. Notwithstanding this, Cyberwip does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our system unless we have parental permission. If you are a parent or guardian and you know that your child has provided us with personal information you do not agree to, please get in touch with us so that we can take immediate action.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users registering on our website, we may store any personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (other than username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we must keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

As Cyberwip evolves or legal obligations mandate, we will update this Privacy Policy to reflect any changes. We will probably post a notification for significant changes on our front page, but users are advised to check our policies occasionally for changes. The Effective Date is always posted as the first line on all policies to allow a quick check for changes. Unless otherwise expressly indicated, any changes are effective as of the time and data posted.
